Hallo Daniel, I think this a problem of the webgui logic. It tries to load all file names and informations at beginning. With around 7 million files this could be too much. I don't think a 64 Bit browser can handle this too.
If I remember right there was a discussion about changing this behaviour, but they need time and money for this.
