Yesterday, we recovered a directory structure from our Bareos backups, for
08/20/2017 (Full backup with incremental). However, we later discovered that
the data was corrupt. Many simple text files contained plain text followed by
all sorts of garbage/binary data. We thought maybe a bad tape and attempted a
later restore for 08/01/2017, which was a full back up only. Same problem.

I see similar issues posted on-line but nothing that seems to completely match
our set up. Does anyone know if this is a bug in Bareos or not? If it is a bug,
does anyone know if the actual backups are corrupt because of it or is it a
problem with the restore?

We are Scientific Linux 6.9 running Bareos 15.2.2-37.1 on both server and
client.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Kenneth R. Leach
