OK. It seems that it was a PEBKAC. When I ran the bareos-sd -d900 -t I noticed
that the Autochanger resource was not being parsed at all. So it was not a
problem with autochanger itself but rather a problem with config.
I cd'ed to /etc/bareos/bareos-sd.d/autochanger and...
And it seems I forgot to add the .conf suffix to the config file. *facepalm*
After simple mv vchanger1{,.conf} everything seems to work great.
