Like you say, the native capacity of the tape is 6 TB. The 15 TB number assumes the data can be compressed to 40%. Your data was compressed to 60%. The capacity of the tape is very dependent on what data you are backing up. If it is uncompressed logs - you can probably store 40 TB on a single tape. It is not uncommon to compress logs to 5%, which would give 100 TB tape capacity ;). If the logs are already gzip'ed, you will probably not fit much more than 6 TB on the tape.
