I am trying to limit the amount of power the director has over my -fds by allowing only backup and restores. The "runscript" is a bit scary I think so I would prefer it if it can be avoided by e.g. having a plugin. But that's just my own threat model, it is OK if it is not shared by other folks :-). I guess I could always have a /.snapshot/ directory in every supported filesystem with a cron that refreshes it, and configure my FileSets to only copy those files.
