I remember Rutherford's Mace lute to be quite small for a 12 course. It was however very charming and I wish I could have played it longer.
-Sterling There can hardly be doubt, though, that Mace had a clear notion of pitches, as he strongly recommends to have an organ in the church for singing in tune (p. 9).
