I purged all of the boost libraries, and installed them for a second time. I rebuilt barry and it works!
Thank you for your help, now I feel rather idiotic :). But it works !! I am using some of Gutsy's (Gutsy = Feisty + 1) packages now, which were dependencies of Gutsy's libboost-dev etc., so if there is another person using Feisty I would be interested if they are also having problems with enabling boost with pure Feisty packages. In a few day I will probably bother you about using the opensync-plugin and how fully developed it is at this stage but for now it is time to rest.
