The binary packages that I prepare add a blacklist file to /etc/modprobe.d
which blocks berry_charge when Barry packages are installed.  I believe
he was using the binary packages.

I didn't write the Gentoo ebuild, so I suspect that the modprobe rules
are not installed by default.  You can find a sample blacklist file
in the source tree, under modprobe/blacklist-berry_charge.
