I am not sure yet ;-) I just wanted to see what I can do and not do
with it. So I am in exploratory mode. I've not had a blackberry before

You are right, they don't work either. Which is strange since I
occasionally use usb flash drives on this system and have never had
any problem. As late as a week or two ago. Other than that, I don't
have any usb devices.

No dice. I can't find an error message anywhere. All the usb ports are
quite dead. Very strange. 

So as I test I plugged the same blackberry into another Ubuntu8.04
system here, and it killed all the usb ports on it, including the
keyboard and mouse. A reboot fixed that. 

I know its not a barry problem at this point, but any ideas on the
best way to get 8703e + usb ports? I quickly googled usb / 8.04
issues, and didn't see anything jump out.
