Since this is your first Blackberry, I'll do the usual recommendation of making a full backup in Windows before you experiment, just as a safety precaution for any data you have on it. > So as I test I plugged the same blackberry into another Ubuntu8.04 > system here, and it killed all the usb ports on it, including the > keyboard and mouse. A reboot fixed that. Sounds like some kind of incompatibility with the Blackberry firmware and the kernel you're running. Are there any pending kernel updates for your Ubuntu 8.04 system? Are you up to date? If updating Ubuntu doesn't work for you, the other thing you might try is upgrading the firmware on your Blackberry. You'll need a Windows system for this, but sometimes people have found that their strange Blackberry problems go away after a device firmware update. That's all I can think of at the moment. - Chris ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Barry-devel mailing list Barry-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/barry-devel
