If you've watched my previous mailing list announcements, they sometimes get "fun"... for various values of fun. :-) Usually, the first couple lines are meant to be read tongue-in-cheek. > Er, anyhow - official Mandriva packages for this release are built and > will be arriving in repositories soon, in /contrib/release for Cooker > and /contrib/backports for 2008 Spring. That sounds like a good patch for distro packages. I'll probably resist hacking up Barry to work around other glitches, although I do want it to work for people. If you write any tests for your Blackberry, please do sent them as patches. I have a dream of a test suite that works with real data (see the TODO file), and help on that would be great. So far I only have a test script for the build process, and it already caught a couple minor bugs before releasing 0.14. :-) > Also, the PPP scripts are now installed to appropriate locations; you > should be able to just install barry-ppp, plug in your Blackberry, do > 'pppd call barry-verizon' (or whatever) and watch the connection come > up. Good, yes? barry-ppp must be a Mandriva specific package? In my RPM's, the scripts are in barry-util. But as far as dependencies go, all you need for modem support is the runtime libbarry0 library, the pppob program, pppd, and the scripts, so you're correct.
