Yes, it creates a GSM device in the control panel, but the only 
configuration items I can see are the following:

Enable LCP
Enable Compression
PAP
SPAP
CHAP
MS-CHAP

Even the modem settings are only concerned about speed and flow-control. 
  The network device settings only mention DHCP and DNS as being provided.

Where's a darn conf file when you need one...
