Did you compile binary packages yourself, or did you compile from source and just run make install? Is bcharge being run from udev correctly, with a /etc/mobprobe.d/blacklist-berry_charge.conf file installed? Make sure that bcharge and the berry_charge kernel module are not running at the same time.
