I compiled from source and then I did make install. There is no /etc/mobprobe.d/blacklist-berry_charge.conf file installed. But this was exactly the problem. The module berry_charge seems to have caused the 8700g to reboot. I blacklisted it like this: # echo blacklist berry_charge > /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-berry Then I used bcharge and the device was detected.
