Related to this issue below that I lost sight of; I have not seen a
repetition.. seems something changed other than Barry to create this
issue. 

I had a look at the Report Error button if I recall correctly, and there
was no useful information when I followed it through; Either missing or
unsupported for diagnostics _ seem to remember landing on a "non-ubuntu
package" message. 

At the time I was stuck on the 0.162009102716-0git1 version I just moved
off of yesterday by forcing apt to pull current 0.16-2009xxxxx

Is it possible to extract the information that would be reported
with the "Report Error" button?

I don't have Karmic installed here yet, so I'm not able to quickly test.

The version that came with Karmic?

The version from my PPA (weekly build)?

Your own build?
