I just completed the setup of Baruwa 1.1.0 under Debian Squeeze last weekend. The Baruwa .deb packages include MailScanner 4.83.5, so you will be safe on that.
I was using squeeze-stable and that includes Python 2.6.6-3. Baruwa requires minimum 2.6.6-7. The only solution I found was to change the sources to squeeze-test which provides Python 2.6.6-14.
