I'm just starting out implementing a data link between BASE2 and
Bioclipse. I have a few questions.

I want to do the programmatic equivalent of logging in and displaying
the bioassay sets of a given experiment à la list_bioassaysets.jsp --
without the web/JSP part.

Reading the docs, I get different impressions -- do I want to
implement a BASE2 plug-in for this, or is such a plug-in too tied to
BASE2 to function within a plug-in in Bioclipse? If the latter, what
approved ways are there to interact with BASE2 from without? I'm
thinking along the lines of webservices.

I've also found the information for plugin developers, and the example
plugins. I haven't tried getting them to run, since I'm not sure
they're what I need... if they turn out to be, I might be able to
supply information for the "23.1.2. With Eclipse" section.

What I've found and read so far:

http://base.thep.lu.se/chrome/site/doc/html/developerdoc/plugin_developer/plugin_developer.html
 http://base.thep.lu.se/chrome/site/doc/specifications/technical.html
 http://base.thep.lu.se/chrome/site/doc/development/plugins/index.html
 http://base.thep.lu.se/wiki/DeveloperInformation#Pluginexamples
 http://base.thep.lu.se/chrome/site/doc/development/overview/query/index.html

I'd be thankful for some further pointers on where to start.

Regards,
