OK, I got it to work.

I had to delete the original plugin as root, even though I created it as
another user.

Once I put the correct path in, was fine.

This could be a permission-related issue. Make sure that the logged in
user has at least USE-permission for the plugin.

The trashcan only shows items that are owned by the logged in user. Make
sure that you are logged in as the user that is the owner of the plugin.
