Actually, all you need is the X and Y coordinates from the raw data 
file. You don't need the reporters or anything else.

Only one set of values are correct and if it fails with those it doesn't 
really matter if it works with other values. The scale and offset values 
can be found in the genepix file headers. The spot size has to be 
guessed. On our test image we use 32.

I don't know. Is there some expert on TIFF images and possibly also the 
JAI toolkit out there who can help us with the problem with spot images? 
I am afraid the we don't have much time to spend on this issue as long 
as our own images are working.
