We've now sampled yet another new site, but we still don't seem to have come much closer to making a decision for a new home for BASFA. I'm sorry that I was first sick, then traveling, and was unable to personally attend several meetings in a row and thus couldn't do my part to move the decision making process along.
I propose that we schedule our meetings through Labor Day (August 2/9/16/23/30 and September 6) for the Stevens Creek Blvd location, if the space is available. I further propose that we plan to make a decision about a new "permanent" site at the August 9 meeting, with the plan being that we start meeting at the new permanent site as of the September 13 meeting. This would give us time to properly transition from one site to another, effective after Labor Day. The only reason I don't think we should try to make a permanent move any earlier than Labor Day is that I don't want us to move to a new site only to have a relatively small meeting shortly thereafter. Remember that a bunch of regular BASFA attendees will be in Boston on Labor Day -- we should meet there as the Back Bay Area Science Fiction Association, but that's a different issue -- and there is also SiliCon.
