Secretarys report: were accepted as Thunderbirds are gone
Treasurers report: last week we took in $3.25
No VP
The President reported that hed like to do a lot of things many of
them legal thanked Nathan for giving him a charge & that we have
auction items and a money motion in 2 weeks
The party committee [Nathan] said there will be no BASFA party at Silicon
We voted on site selection [Kelly, Eric & Dave G volunteered to count
the votes]. The President commented that since it was not a money vote
the membership could buy votes and there was a vote as to whether buying
votes should be allowed in this case with the results being 31 to 29 to
uphold the Presidents ruling. Ballots were handed out and Kevin kindly
explained preferential voting.
We discussed BASFA outings while the vote was counted
Votes being tallied, the Pruneyard Campbell Hickory Pit won for site
selection
Announcements:
Kevin announced that he will be Intersections Events and Extravaganzas
division head
Lynn announced that shes working 3 jobs now one of them for KGO as
Gail Alexander [7pm to 1:30am weekends] and that shes recording a CD
Reviews:
Dave C reviewed I Robot as a great cop film [making many funny remarks
about the film to support his POV] & as worth matinee or wait for
cable if you arent hot for watching Will fight robots
Julie reviewed a book, Playback 100 years of music machines in
history as the author couldve used a copy editor & the book is New
York-centric, a bit repetitive and recommended it as a book Lynn would enjoy
Mike reviewed Dodgeball as he saw it at the Milpitas Super Saver &
thought the movie was worth matinee.
Dave G reviewed Spiderman 2 on the IMAX in Dublin, as it looked really
good and the sound was loud. It cost $11.50. it was a good movie & worth
seeing, especially when the theatres only 10% filled
Dave C reviewed 'The Stupids at Cobbs Comedy Club for the
preservation of dumb songs from mainly the 60s and 70s as 3 hours of a
great show & worth full price [$15]
Spring reviewed the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle as she found out
she was in the museum & that it does a good job of presenting the genre
worth full price
Art announced that his wife will supply fresia bulbs to those interested
[& many of us were]
We auctioned off stuff = joke newspaper .25; weekly world news $1;
various books for $1, $1, $2, .50, .25 & a pristine audio book bomb
[read by William Shatner] for .50
We adjourned at = 9:22 pm
