Justice League: Double Date tonight at 9 on Cartoon Network.
Here's info from aicn:
The Great Gail Simones JUSTICE LEAGUE: DOUBLE DATE Finally Airs in the U.S.!! Amy Acker!! Morena Baccarin!!
I am Hercules!!
I am much looking forward to this one. It was written by the genius-y Gail Simone, one of my very favorite comic-book authors ever. Do yourself a favor and pick the first two issues of Simone's Villians United, which plays like Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, only with classic DCU supervillians. But, for the record, you dont even have to know or like the DCU to love Villians United.
Grendel's" take on "Double Date":
What's it called?
"Double Date."
What's it about?
Huntress brings The Question along as she goes after an organized crime figure named Mandragora. Green Arrow and Black Canary work to stop them.
Mandragora??
Yeah, I know were all expecting Tobias Whale. Then again one huge, hulking albino crime figure is just like another isnt it?
Double Date? Is there some romance happening?
Its got Green Arrow and Black Canary, what do you think? Thats not all though.
The Question returns, so there must be some Cadmus stuff happening since conspiracies are his bag?
Well, it gets a mention at least. I think the lack of Cadmus plot in the last few episodes are the calm before the storm.
So why does a paranoid nutjob like The Question help the Huntress?
That would be telling though its not as obvious as it seems.
What's good?
The opening Huntress scene. The inter-league fight with Huntress vs. Canary and GA vs. The Question. King Faraday. Mention of Tommy Monaghan (though I hope its not Enniss Tommy). The girl scouts reference. The Question (of course). Pretty Bird. Jonn thinks Huntress is the unstable one. Bored now. The continuing trend of using Whedon-verse people for voices (Adam Baldwin, Nathan Fillion, Morena Baccarin, Gina Torres, Juliet Landau and now Amy Acker)
What's not good?
Not much really, though the end to Huntress big conflict is pretty obvious.
Grendels rating for Justice League 4.6?
