Trey Haddad, President Chris Garcia, Vice-President Dave Gallaher, Treasurer Galen Tripp, Sargent at Arms Barbara Johnson-Haddad, Secretary Began 8:01 [as the start of a whole new era of notepads] 21 people attended Secretary’s report: the minutes of meeting 822 were accepted as ‘There’s a convention coming up . . .’ A Treasurer’s report was that last week we took in $9.70 - & $22.10 in the party jar We established a party jar The VP reported that he needs hundreds of paperback books for a prank and there’s a new ‘Drink Tank’ out & a new ‘SFinSF’ will be out soon The President stated he had nothing fannish to report The Hollister in ’08 bid committee has received Norwescon pre-supports & the PR is posted online & a full-page ad will be in PR5 & there will be ribbons The Sports Committee indicated ‘Go Sharks’ The Party Committee is committed, the Baycon party will be Friday night Announcements Andy announced ‘There’s a convention coming up . . .’ & in 2 weeks their 27” TV will be sold at a BASFA auction to give it a good home [after World Horror con] [evil] Kevin announced Iron Costumer in LA con is cancelled Kevin S announced ‘There’s a convention coming up . . .’ & auction items and fanzines to look at Cheryl announced there are ‘Emerald Cities’ Ken announced that KTEH has been merged with KQED and there may be purges Dave C announced that the TAFF deadline is May 27 & that World Horror Con will be in the 2nd week of May at the Holiday Inn Golden gate in SF & online registration closes at midnight at www.whc2006.org Kirsten announced that there’s one last special guest for Baycon = Stephen Furst Adrienne announced her review of ‘Bimbos’ is posted on epinions.com Reviews: [evil] Kevin reviewed last week’s [current episode of] ‘Doctor Who’ on a 37” hiDef TV as it rocks and the episode was brilliantly handled Kirsten reviewed ‘To Serve and Submit’ [bought at BASFA auction] as it should have been called ‘Vikings of Gor’ or the ‘Story of O Please’; that the sex was decent & the plot less so Dave C stayed up late to see CSPAN and reviewed CSPAN’s rerun of the White House Correspondent’s Dinner as not a roast, not even a singe - as he enjoyed it immensely - worth basic cable [& there were follow-ons] Chris reviewed ‘American Dreamz’ as not great, worth $4.72 and that his bookshelf rejected ‘The Four Forges’ - a book that is FAR worse than its cover - so horrid that it hurt; and also reviewed ‘Stick it’ as the greatest thing ever done, rad, a movie about snarky gymnasts, worth full price.
