*Announcements*

[evil] Kevin announced that he got a lifetime achievement award from the International Costumer's Guild at CostumeCon 25 - and brought the plaque for us to ogle & announced that rates for CostumeCon 26 go up May 1st

Ken announced 'less than 24 hours to go' - before KTEH starts running the new season of Dr Who

Chris announced that the Sonoma Valley Film Festival will be this weekend & will be all over the city

Art announced that he has a Samsung color laser printer to get rid of, that it's in working order [but not Mac 10.4 compatible]

*Reviews*:

Harold reviewed 'The Tudors' as history light, that they got Henry's name right and not much beyond that & worth having Showtime for & he reviewed 'I was a Horror TV Host' by John Stanley as it's about horror TV hosts - and reviewed 'Arcade Fire, Neon Bible' as 'get it' - and reviewed Fright Night at PacBell Park as 'god, they're bad this season' and it was cold

Chris reviewed 'Grindhouse' as a psycho-sexual freakout & he liked the fake trailers and previews & at 3 hours it was a bit long & well-worth full price [and there were follow ons]

Andy reviewed the 2nd episode of Dr Who as 'holy mother of god what a whacked out experience' - an absolute blast - and worth stealing & reviewed the special edition of Dr Who/Weakest Link as a decent episode that was -so- wrong & made some comments about Dr Who fan-service; then Andy reviewed CostumeCon 25 as there were some minor flaws but overall it was a fabulous convention - worth full price

[evil] Kevin reviewed not doing anything for a weekend as it was mini-series weekend on the SciFi Channel and otherwise lovely and relaxing and he needs more of them & then reviewed the O'Reilly Media Emerging Tech Conference, where he presented Spintronics - as he went to one talk and it was . . .drivel - and that when he did his presentation [compressing 1 hour into 20 minutes] that it was well received as it actually contained hard science - and the trip was worth full price

Mike reviewed 'The Reaping' as it just got messier and messier as it goes along and could only rate it as 'fan service' and worth matinee

Julie reviewed spending part of the weekend converting LPs - as time well spent and recommends Spin Doctor

*We adjourned at =* 9:05

*And the rumor of the week was* that = 'that BASFA is in violation of Logan's Run'
