CHARITY FUND RAISER ANNOUNCED FOR CON-X-TREME 2008
Castro Valley, CA. Con-X-Treme organizers announced fund raiser plans
for Oakland's Children's Hospital at this year's convention event.
Fund raising activities will include an active donation campaign and
will be highlighted by a charity auction held on Sunday evening during
the Labor Day weekend event.
"Our goal is to reach out to the business and entertainment community
and seek out donations and contributions for the auction." Terry
Meadows, convention founder, commented today. Having a diverse
collection of products and services is important but "it's also
important to give the community the opportunity to give their support
to the Children's Hospital. It's a great institution in our
community."
Over $1,000 was raised at last year's fund raising efforts, this year
"we're expecting to raise more than five times last year's efforts!"
Rob Miles, convention chairman, explains to donors and supporters,
"the auction will be the highlight of the evening's festivities. We
anticipate a large number of contributions from the community to
support an institution that gives so much to the children in our
community."
Numerous members of the convention's board and production team have
ties to or are supporters of the hospital, which services a diverse
community throughout the Bay Area. A charity which they all feel very
strongly about and look forward to bringing funds, attention and fun
to the both the convention and the hospital.
Con-X-Treme organizers will be taking donations throughout the weeks
before the convention weekend. Contributors will receive recognition
in the convention program and donations are tax deductible. For
