Began at 8:04pm - with zaaaaaaping
23 people attended

We established a party jar
A motion failed

The minutes of meeting 1263 were accepted as 'written in the style of
1930's noir'

The Treasurer reported that last week we took in $42.50 in the regular jar
& at meeting 1262 took in $11.75 in the regular jar & $13.25 in the party
jar

There was no vice president report

The President pledged to use the zap-gun gavel in moderation & otherwise
had nothing fannish to report

Announcements:
Adrienne announced that we may lose Marina, who needs to move & find a
place for 6 for less than $2500 a month & then announced that Bay Area
Ghost Hunters  is now over 1200 members

Ken announced that it's SFJC's 55th anniversary today & announced that the
next Legion of Rasselon meeting will be at the IHOP on Steven's Creek near
Lawrence, 7:30 pm

JC announced that Nerdvana Podcast interviewed Adam Lash & they hit 500
likes on their Facebook page

John O announced that Wyoming's attourney general will no longer try to
overturn the decision that makes gay marriage legal in Wyoming, so it's
legal in 64% of the US now & he announced that he goes in for an interview
for internal IT on Wednesday so good thoughts are appreciated

Dave G announced that they signed a lease and will gladly accept help
moving this Saturday

Carole announced that OVFF, the Ohio Valley Film Festival is this weekend
and that she & Bill will be attending

Josh announced that West Valley College is showing the play 'Ghost Stories'
at 8pm Thurs, Fri & Sat & at 2pm Sunday - and he made their costumes - and
highly recommends the play

Mike announced that a shop has opened, 'Pop Daddy' - a shop full of
dangerously cool things - at 1318 Lincoln Ave, SJ, #408-294-9893

Dave C announced that 'SF Daily' has closed its doors

[evil] Kevin announced that his power suit won 'most innovative design' at
the Pacific International Quilt Festival this weekend


Reviews:
Dave C reviewed 'Gone Girl' as a moving experience - but he felt better
once it was over

Mike reviewed Eric Brown's book 'Jani and the Greater Game' as he bought
the book because of the cover and it was a ripping yarn.  Steampunk set in
India and worth full price - highly recommended

Josh reviewed taking part in the South SF Bay Area Tiki bar Crawl as an
all-weekend event and he saw a LOT of tiki bars

Bill reviewed Jack McDevitt's book 'Firebird' as an advanced physics sf
mystery - a good read and a good series - recommended

Carole reviewed 'The Book of Life' as very enjoyable and visually stunning
- worth full price

Chris reviewed 'Ghost Stories' [the play at West Valley College] as the
costumes were great [Josh made them] and the play was enjoyable - worth
full price

we did auctions

we adjourned at 9:11 pm

and the rumor of the week was:  'BASFA rights the outlaw wrongs on Mars'
