One minor correction to the minutes of my review of Scalzi's "The
Collapsing Empire": the book doesn't involve an evacuation from Earth -
it follows the human diaspora who lost contact with Earth 1000 years
earlier after Earth's connection to the flow disappeared (which led to
the founding of the titular empire). There is some discussion of
whether they could evacuate some of the soon to be isolated systems
before things completely collapse, but it doesn't look good.
