Reviews:

Lisa reviewed this last weekend's FurCon, wherein she had a good time. She
enjoyed herself, but found that the party floor was very lame this year -
too much alcohol, loud music and too little conversation. Sadly, the furry
parade was cancelled for security reasons, but most of the panels were
good, the dealer's room was huge - as usual - and the art show was good.
Harold also had a good time, spent almost solely in gaming

Yochanan reviewed the series 'Fear the Walking Dead' - all 8 seasons - as
overall pretty good, but the last season being not as good. Overall he
recommends the entire series, if you like the subject matter.
see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear_the_Walking_Dead
              and he reviewed 'Union of Salvation' from 2019, seen on
Youtube as a somewhat dense movie that he had to go to Wikipedia to read up
on in order to understand what he had seen. Recommended if you like
historicals & seen in Russian with English subtitles.
see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_of_Salvation_(film)
and see = https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8769146/
              and he also reviewed 'Skeleton Crew' as very enjoyable and
Jude Law was amazing, with excellent special fx & he liked it a lot. Rick
agreed.

              and he also reviewed the Pinnacles National park as
astoundingly beautiful and Wow, what a hike. Highly recommended

Rick reviewed the 2nd season opener of 'Severance' - seen on Apple TV - as
claustrophobically wonderful and he recommends it highly.

              and he reviewed 'Silo' seen on Amazon TV, as the 2nd season
closer was a humdinger with a cliffhanger at the end. He recommends seeing
both seasons & states that he believes it is highly likely that the full
series will be made
see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silo_(TV_series)

BrandX reviewed a series on Netflix, 'Cyberpunk 2077, Edgerunners' as worth
checking out and very sf-nal as it explores some interesting ideas & very
much recommended
see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberpunk:_Edgerunners

Robin reviewed visiting Egypt, the country, as it's a very large country
that has been the setting for many sf & fantasy projects. She found the
climate of Cairo to be rather California-like, with Nubia being tropical.
She found the haggling culture to be quite different & the people to be
very friendly. She felt quite safe there. She highly recommends Egyptian
cotton, but does not recommend getting appendicitis - although she was
taken care of excellently well. She also highly recommends getting travel
insurance. She also commented that 'pyramids are HUGE!' There were
comments & follow-ons. Rick commented that Egyptians loved that when he
was there he tried to learn Arabic and also that he loves cats.

and the rumor of the week was = 'We remember 2 doctors todays: King &
McCoy, may their memories for a blessing'

we adjourned at = 8:47pm
