The patch is pretty short (just replacing one line with nine lines). I’ll include a link to the Bugzilla entry that contains the patch in the README.js.txt file. If there are no further objections then, I will go through the motions for making a release over the next week. After looking at http://www.apache.org/dev/release.html, it sounds more appropriate to call the release 1.7beta1 rather than 1.7rc1. Once I’m done I’ll send a link to the distribution to the pmc for a vote. I haven’t been involved in the mechanics of previous releases, but if it’s not more than following http://www.apache.org/dev/release.html and the instructions in the MAINTAIN file (modulo intfrastructure changes since the least release), then I should be able to manage.
