This has changed.  It is now possible to use dynamic SVGs, without getting
the
javascript error.

On the other hand, there ends up being around 1.5MB of Batik JARs to include
in the applet archive, so unless your applet is going to be used over
broadband or a LAN, it could be a bit slow to load the first time.
