I am a little surprised to hear this. In general I think the two render similar quality. The one place where Adobe is significantly better is text (especially at small point sizes). Can you be more specific about what you thing needs improvement?
Text is the main issue, but on a direct comparison I noticed differences
in (I'm not sure how to call it) "smoothness" in other objects. I have a polyline-object which gets quite a complex filter treatment (the filter combination is from JASC's WebDraw, consisting of Turbulence, DisplacementMap, ColorMatrix, Composite,2 Gaussians, Specular Lighting and again 2 Composites) for an metal-like effect which I could hardly achieve otherwise.
(Graphics are not my strong side, after all)
These objects look somewhat (as in "a bit") more shaded and smoother when displayed in Adobe - it's nothing that matters much to me, but I thought maybe I could fiddle with some settings to achieve same quality.
The text has a similar effect, now that I think of it, it's just looking a bit more pixelated and a little harder in the edges (and you're right, it is quite small).
I will have a look at the rendering hints - are they in full effect in Batik?
Bye -Urs
