No luck. i tried the latest nightly build of Batik and the performance is still the same. It takes on average like 25 seconds to render the svg image. Any suggestions are welcome. I really need to improve the performace as the whole aim of my project was to make it browser and OS independent. A working demo is available.

(I forgot) have special Mac Speedup fix in the way Batik handle its image buffer. It change the image buffer type, if it detect Mac. If you are not using recent version of Batik, just try the latest build to see if it is improve the rendering performance.
