I get the same behavior.
It's kind of annoying, but not as much as the fact that finger doesn't
do `finger -l`: I get the short format output from some sites, which
doesn't give the information I need.
I looked into the source code for bbdb-finger-internal, and it does some
stuff with the processes and streams, and I have no idea about how to
tell it to use long format!
