Against Jamie's recommendations, I used a text merger, emerge, which
is similar to the lispm Source Compare Merge, and had pretty good
luck.  I made sure to back up my original files carefully before
proceeding.  I found that in almost every collision, one of the
entries at least as up-to-date, with respect to every field, as the
other, i. e. there was one clear winner.  For the few cases where this
was not true, I just saved the names and hand-edited after I finished
the merge.

To use emerge I had to use a non-lemacs.  If anyone happens to know of
a version that works with lemacs, *please* let me know.  It's
definitely a way cool tool.
