Our mailer here at laas adds a Return Receipt to *every* outgoing
mail (this was requested by our direction).... no need to say that
    this is rather annoying...

You could always add:

  Return-receipt-to: <luser-administrator@yourhost>

but that might hurt your chances for continued employment

I use return receipt from my work account a lot. I like know that the
message was delivered although there's nothing to prevent the
recipient from being a total bogon and losing it. I also use procmail
to auto file the receipts so that I never see them unless I go
looking.

I wish that there was better support for automatically annotating my
message when the return receipt is received. And I wish that burst
addresses sent back a single receipt saying that the thing was
received and distributed, but stripped it from the distributed
version.

I also wish that I was independently wealthy . . . .

                        Rick
