Dont'cha just love it when you have so many add-on packages that you never
know what's "standard" and what's not?  :-)

Turns out that C-c C-a, which I thought was "standard" is actually part of
Jamie Zawinski's mail-abbrevs.el package.  It is bound to
mail-interactive-insert-alias:
Prompt for and insert a mail alias.

I personally use it with "VM", but I imagine it works with any mailer.  I
find it real handy to make up quicky mail-lists which I keep as mail-alias
entries in my BBDB database.
