And Emacs has local-map. Hmm. There's an idea. It does mean that
anyone using emacs-19.3[46] won't get the feature (I think...) but I
was checking 19.34 compatibility last week and, well, it was broken. I
may well drop support for pre-20 versions of Emacs. I have yet to
check how far back the XEmacs support goes, too.
