The other item I'd reiterate here is the use of the BBEdit -> Set Menu
Keys... Item to assign a key command to Edit -> Auto-Complete Glossary
Entry...

I tend to save each Glossary entry as a separate file with names like
"file_meta" then I can type "fi", hit Cmd-. ( my current key command )
and it will expand my Glossary entry. No mouse, no fouse er fuss.

I also assigned Shift-Cmd-. to Insert Glossary Entry which pops up a
handy window with your Glossary items that you can type into and then a
quick return. This is good when you can't remember the name of your
entry.

You could follow this to some logical conclusion like naming files like
this: "fm_file_metadata" which would let you type fm for your
abbreviation, but still see the longer description if you were looking
in the Glossary Palette or the Insert Glossary Entry window.

I think I'm off to rename my Glossary Entries,

=)
