One would expect that. But where were the backups coming from? So I found the backup feature way down at the end of the File menu. For a worksheet specific selection I expected to find it in the worksheet's tool bar but that's another matter. Fonts and tab stops have the same disparity. The box was NOT checked in File_BackupOptions when I got the peculiar backup files. It also points to the "nothing selected" radio button. I just had a look at my personal backup script dated November 2002. It still works though I'm not very proud of the verbose AppleScript that I created from an MPW script that I still use. The feature is that the backup makes an history entry in the beginning of each worksheet as I do a backup so I always know where I stand. Ask if you're interested. At one time I could use the same worksheets with MPW or with BBEdit but that feature has been "repaired". BBEdit worksheets are now in plist format.
