The real problem with JavaScript is that most of the people that write code
with it ‹ especially in the beginning ‹ are not programmers.. So, there were
no good examples for people to follow.

I didn't mean quality of code; I meant what code does.
Like, f'rinstance:

* Thou shalt not resize people's windows -- it's rude.
* Thou shalt not use crawlers -- they grind people's systems to a crawl.
* Thou shalt not put javascript into an HREF attribute -- use real
HTTP links there and put javascript into an onClick attribute instead.

That sort of thing.
