Just bought 8.5, realized that the language module is what dictates what could be folded in my preferred language.

Only for automatic fold points that appear in the gutter on the left. You can manually fold any range you want, including by doing doing a "Balance & Fold".

So, I'm asking how I modify my language module plist to get items to fold. I know it's fresh on the market, but I'm hungry.

Auto-fold points for codeless language modules correspond to function ranges; no separate work on your part is required. Appendix D (I think it is) of the user manual discusses the updated Grep syntax for writing CLMs.

"This expression should return the named subpatterns <function_name> and
<function> to identify the function's name (which will be displayed in the function popup menu) and the function as a whole. You can omit the <function> subpattern in order to allow the entire pattern to match against functions, but you should not omit the <function_name> subpattern as if this is not present, BBEdit will not display
matches in the function popup. "

What's a named subpattern, though? I've not heard of these before. Also a bit puzzled about those angle brackets...

PS: Thanks for your hard work on this upgrade, Rich & Co. It looks very pleasing so far and may convince me to send a fistful of Euros your way...
