| Hello all, If I have a file search path in the preferences set to something like /usr/local/qt/src, and I do a "File > Open File by Name" and enter a name of a file that I know is in that directory (or one of its subdirectories), should BBEdit open that file. Or, is that directory considered "hidden" and excluded from the search list? Opening this same file from a open file dialog requires that I use the "Open Hidden..." command. As a side note, I've evaluated TextMate, and find that their open file dialog has a nice feature. Select "File > Open" and you can immediately hit a '/' key and get a "Go to directory" sheet, in which I enter "/usr/local/qt", and that becomes the active directory -- and I can navigate to the appropriate directory and find the file I was looking for. It also has the "Show Hidden" check box, so this one dialog serves both the "Open" and "Open Hidden" command in one shot. There are some other useful TextMate-ish features that I've found incredibly useful -- I'll probably be submitting these as requests as I find them. Also, would others find it useful (I would, that's why I ask) if there were a community BBEditWiki per-se, similar to the the (dare I say the "T-word" twice in the same message?) TextMate wiki, http://macromates.com/wiki/Main/Suggestions, as well as some user-made screen casts to show off the power of BBEdit? Best Regards, JP |
