What I am not sure about is why I need to ³Open² the file to actually edit
it? Why shouldn¹t I be able to simply edit the already visible code instead
of cluttering my desktop with at least one more new window (e.g. Document
drawer)...? It seems to me I would like to have all the functionality of
Document Drawer in Disk Browser.... or am I missing something.
You are not the only person who would like this functionality. :-)
Why isn't it there today? The short answer is:
Due to the way some of BBEdit's internals are arranged, we are
unable to edit one file from multiple windows.
I would like to address this limitation in the future, but as
per our standard policy, I cannot speculate as to when this
change will be available.
