I've noticed now there's an option "Use Unicode line breaks" in Preferences: Text Files (mine is checked) and also that at the bottom of the editor window there's a menu where you can choose between CR, LF, CRLF and Unicode (mine is set to Unicode). Can this have any relation?
In fact, I can answer to myself. I don't know what Unicode means in this context (what kind of line break Unicode is) but in effect that was the problem. I changed it to Unix LF, saved the file, uploaded it again and it worked. Changed it again to Unicode, saved and uploaded and doesnt work. I tried unchecking the option "Use Unicode line breaks" and now the bottom of the windows says Unix LF in new files. So now the questions are: in general (not for this particular case but in general), how will I be better off? (with Unix LF or with Unicode). Could I have problems with non-ASCII characters if I uncheck this option? The BBedit manual is not very verbose on this aspect.
