I've noticed that if, in the "Editing: General" preferences, you set the soft wrapped line indentation to "reverse," you turn BBEdit into a really excellent outliner. But, as far as I can tell, (a) you can't set this preference for individual documents, only for all documents; (b) printing the document reverts it to the flush-left status; and (c) there's no way to hard-wrap it or add line breaks without losing the formatting, because when you add line breaks you're turning single paragraphs into multiple ones, all of which are left-justified.
I can get the effects I want by writing outline-style documents in OmniOutliner and then exporting them to plain text, but I'd like to stay in BBEdit all the time, if possible. (I think of it as my home away from home.) Anyone have any suggestions or corrections? -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Have a feature request?
