The original file probably has inconsistent line endings. If so, this is
pretty easy to fix:

* bring up BBEdit's Open dialog (File -> Open)

* turn off the "Translate Line Breaks" option

* open the file

* apply Normalize Line Endings (Text -> Normalize Line Endings)

* since you'll be sharing the file between Macs and PCs, set the line
  ending format to "Windows (CRLF)" via the popup at the bottom center
  of the window

* save the file

and that should do it.
