Hmm... font was set to Inconsolata (sp?).  Have changed it to Courier  
and Monaco with the same results.

Has the same problem, so it's not the file, it's something on my  
machine, And it is only in the preview window.  I can put an α  
character into the edit window (copy&paste it in) and it displays  
fine, but shows a square in the preview window. (Ignore the FF issue,  
there wwas a CSS text-transform: lower; in the file).
