I will hazard a guess that you're looking at normal text window, where - yes - the "Currently Open Documents" panel is at the top of the file list and thus gets most of the vertical space. As I wrote in my post, that panel is quite reduced in a project window. There is a "Project" panel (with project contents, of course) at the top of the file list, and it gets the lion's share of the vertical space. If you know how to get the "Currently Open Documents" panel in a project window to be the full height of the document, please share. I didn't see a setting, expert or otherwise, for that. And as for the diamonds, they only disappear in the "Project" panel, as described in my post.
