Well, I expect it is simply easier to set it up correctly now. Also, they 
probably would like to know how many people buying it from them are existing 
customers. I agree it was a little odd, but I didn't find it particularly 
annoying and I figured I wanted to be counted as a upgrade customer rather than 
a new customer.
