All my searches use a file filter with "file name extension" on BBEdit
10. On 9.6 it was indeed called "file name suffix". BBEdit 10 gives
errors on files excluded by the filter and even for folders. BBEdit 10
search also takes twice as long as the same search with 9.6.

Since Multi-File search is one of my main uses for BBEdit, I will not
be able to update to version 10 until this issue is resolved.
